What is hollow Glass Microsphere?
Hollow glass microspheres are also called microballoons. Their diameter can range from 10 to 30 micrometers. Hollow spheres fill composite materials like lightweight concrete, syntactic (foam) and foam. The hollow spheres can be used to fill lightweight composite materials like syntactic polymer foam and lightweight concrete.
Hollow glass bead
This is a special type of glass bead that is less dense and has a poorer conductivity. It's a new type of micron grade light material, developed in 1950s and 60s. Its primary component is borosilicate. The particle size is 10250mm with a wall thickness 12mm. Hollow glass beads feature high compressive strengths, high melting points, high resistivity as well as low thermal conductivity.
Hollow glass microspheres
Micro balloons (also known as bubbles) are formed from borosilicate and sodium salt glass mixtures. They offer low density, high heat, and chemical resistance. The walls are made of
Glass microspheres
The spheres are typically rigid and around 10% thicker. Spherical particles are available in a variety of densities ranging from 0.06g/C3 to 0.80g/C3, and particle sizes from 5um to180um. The wall thickness determines the compression strength of a hollowed sphere. This is expected as the greater density of a sphere increases the compressive strengths.
Hollow glass sphere
Chemically stable, nonflammable, and nonporous. Excellent water resistance. It is a trusted worldwide brand.

Hollow Glass Sphere Hollow Glass beads Product Performance:
Hollow glass microspheres consist of hollow glass microspheres at the micron level with a smoothed surface. It is made up of borosilicate, which is the main chemical component. The sphere is hollow and transparent under an electron microscope. Hollow glass beads possess low density, good strength, resistance to acid and alkali, low thermal conductivity and electrical insulation, among other qualities. These new materials are multifunctional, have high chemical stability and fluidity.

How do you make microspheres of glass?
1. Glass powder method
In the glass powder method, pre-prepared powdered glass containing SO3 is passed through the flame between temperatures of 1100-1500. Due to the increase in solubility, SO3 as well as other gases in the glass are released from the glass. In addition, due to the surface pressure of the glass powder at high temperatures, it becomes spherical. The gas leakage is trapped in the spherical glass particles, forming hollow beads.
2. Spray granulation is a method of granulation.
Spray granulation is made with aqueous sodium silicate solution containing auxiliary reagents (boric, urea and ammonium pentaborate). The solution is injected into the spray drying machine, which is expected to dry to a specific particle size.
3. The droplet method
The liquid drop technique uses the same raw material as the spray-granulation method. The raw materials used are 500 copies each of sodium silicate (M(SiO2):M (Na2O =2) and 10% ammonium aqueous solution. After evenly mixing, the hollow beads are sprayed onto the spray dryer tower.
4. Dry gel method
Alkylsalts are added to dilute acid hydrochloric and then decompose when combined with water. After gelation, gel was dried twice at 60°C and 150°C and then crushed in a ballmill. After grading was completed, dried gel powder was obtained. This was then foamed up in an electric vertical furnace at 1280.
Applications
Hollow Glass Beads Sphere Hollow Glass Beads
:
Hollow glass microspheres have many applications, including glass fiber reinforced products, composite foam, artificial wood, compound, atomic-ash, deep sea buoyancy, bowling and low-density concrete. They are also used as sealing materials, lightweight packaging, in resin handicrafts, for the wall-hanging frame of a mural, sandwich-layer structure wall plate, lightweight concrete.
Hollow glass microspheres are also coated to provide a conductive surface. The thinnest possible conductive coatings provide spherical materials with excellent shielding and conducting properties, but still maintain the weight savings of hollow low-density material. These conductive microbubbles can be used in military applications, biotechnology and medical devices as well electronics.
Hollow glass beads can reduce weight and improve sound insulation. The products are also resistant to cracking and have good reprocessing properties. It is used in the manufacture of composite materials like wood, engineering plastics, rubber, buoyancy materials, FRPs, artificial marbles, man-made stones, the oil and gas industry, aerospace and communications, new high-speed cars and ships, thermal insulation coatings and adhesives.
