Tantalum Boride Powder
Tantalum Diboride and tantalum Boride are gray powders. The Tantalum Diboride has a pH of and is insoluble in nitric, hydrofluoric or acidic solutions. Slightly soluble with hot hydrofluoric or sulfuric acid. Solvent in sodium carbonate and molten alkali. Crystal and TaB2 films have a Vickers Hardness around 30 GPa. These materials are resistant to acid corrosion and oxidation up to 700degC.
TAB2 shares the same hexagonal shape as most diborides. (Alb 2, MGB2,etc.). It also has space groups such as TAB (orthogonal, crystal system, iodized Cmcm), MGB2, TA5B6, TA3B4 and TA3B4 IMmm, TAB2 (hexagonal type of aluminum diboride), P6/mm2.

What is the production process of Tantalum Boride Powder ?
The powder is prepared either by reacting with boron under cylinder gas or vacuum protection or by mixing carbon, oxidizing loads and boron oxide.
The floating zone method allows for the production of single crystals (approximately 1 cm in size and 6 cm long) of Tab2.
At temperatures over 600degC, TAB (single-phase), a mixture of Tacl-5-Bcl3 and H-2-Ar can be used to deposit a tantalum boride film.
Tab2 nanocrystals can be synthesized successfully by reducing NaBH4 to Ta 2O5 with a molecular ratio of 1:14 M:B under argon at 700-900degC.

Tantalum diboride, a metallic luster crystalline material with a high melting temperature and wear-resistance, is hard. It is widely applied in ultra-high temperatures ceramic materials, hard material or composite materials reinforcement.
Tantalum Diboride has also thermal and electrical conductivity. It is used by the chemical industry, building materials, defence industry, agricultural industry and many other departments.
