Ich höre rauschend Flügel schlagen,

Die Hände press ich mir ans Ohr.

Doch so läßt sie sich nicht verstummen.
Sie schreit in meinem Kopf allein,
dass sie allein an mir geschehe,
mit ihrem Leid und ganzen Schrein.

So wünsch ich mich von dann' zu heben,
wo Kraniche Träume jagen.
Ich tauche mit ihnen ins Abendrot,

But she won't become silent this way.
