And if I don't press on then I'll watch the new me die
And the sadder self survive

This isn't as easy as they make it look on TV
I'd never have guessed it was so hard
And maybe you can hear it in the strain of my voice
The perils of it caught me off guard
But when you know that burning deep inside of you
Is not something so easily ignored
You get back on that horse no matter how many times you fall
