The bright lights dimmed and the audience screamed like she'd heard a million times before, and underneath a veil of nicotine, Bennie wondered up and took the floor. The sound grew louder and her head got quiet. She looked into the mouths that roared. Walked stage left down an empty hallway and exited the stadium door.
